Doing it Yourself
Another simple way to use wheel alignment gaskets is to line up the wheels so they are perpendicular to the ground. In order to do this, you simply lift the front end of the car and align the tires to the ground. Then simply slide the rear end of the car toward the front end until the wheels are perpendicular. Then simply lower them back to the ground. You should note that this requires a lift kit, and if you do not have one, a good mechanic should be able to help you install one.
Uses at the Museum
One of the most extreme applications of a caster wheel alignment machine is at a museum. A wheel alignment machine is often used by technicians to determine which specimen should be mounted on the wall, and that specimen should be mounted on the floor. This not only ensures that the specimen will be properly oriented, but that it also accurately records the positions of all geological and technological features in the field. The most common machine used in a museum setting is usually a large counter-weighted wheel alignment machine, but there are also smaller machines that are used when less precision is needed.
